DESCRIPTION: Argon is a colourless, odourless and tasteless gas and is the most abundant member of the rare gas family.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS: Argon is used extensively in the incandescent lamp industry for filling light bulbs. It is also used in arc welding, and mixed with other rare gases in the filling of special bulbs or display tubes. Many Geiger-counter tubes contain argon or argon mixed with organic vapours and gases.
